Journal Prompt #1- How do I plan to set up my journal?
I plan on setting up my journal as a page on my blog so that it is easily accessible. I plan on adding lists, photos, links and graphs to my journal to help document my progress.
Journal Prompt #2- What is the purpose of my project?
I want my project to help others learn how to do something new. I love learning new things and then teaching other people how to do it. Through my personal project, I hope to achieve a successful blog that helps other learn something new.
Journal Prompt #3- How is the Global Context visible in my project?
The global context, personal and cultural expression, is visible throughout my entire project. I designed my whole project based on my personal expression and creativity. This global context can enrich my project by unleashing my own unique creativity.
Journal Prompt #4- What is my plan of action for my project?
My plan of action for my project is to design my blog the way that I want it to be, then add content and blog posts. I also want to have a large social media presence so once the blog is up and running I will start to post regularly on Instagram and Snapchat. After I present my project to my class I plan on continuing to maintain the blog and post regularly.
Journal Prompt #5- How will I measure the success of my final product?
I will measure the success of my final product by using google analytics to evaluate the traffic generated by my blog. Also, blogger has a feature that keeps records of the number of page views for each month. Blogger also tells me where my viewers are from and it also makes my blog visible to search engines.
Journal Prompt #6- Who are some adults and peers and mentors that can assist me in both organizing the project and specializing in the project?
My mentor, Mr. Talarcyzk, has taught marketing and google applications at Hilton Head Island High School for many years. His understanding of marketing and computers will help my project generate a fan-base and engineer a user-friendly design for my blog.
Journal Prompt #7- What are the materials that I already have?
Some materials that I already have for my blog is a website, an Instagram account, a Facebook page, a camera to take photos with, a photographer to take photos, and photoshop to edit images. Some materials that I need are followers on my social media account and blog post ideas.
Journal Prompt #8- How will I select and organize my research?
I will select my research from google, Instagram, and Pinterest because it will lead me to information written by others based on their own personal experiences that will help guide me in the creation of my blog. Some sources that I need to make my project successful are successful blogs created by other people, the Instagram accounts of successful bloggers, and blog posts written by successful bloggers offering advice to new bloggers.

I know that these sources are credible because they are written by experts that have a ton of experience blogging. I will evaluate my sources based on the date they were written. I want my information to be current and up-to-date so that it can benefit me.
Journal Prompt #10- Are there any additional resources that I need to create?
Some additional resources that I need to create my personal project are advice from successful bloggers and blog posts that provide advice for new bloggers.
Journal Prompt #11- Overall, how is the development of my Personal Project so far?
So far my personal project is developing slowly. I need to brainstorm topics to blog about and the overall theme of my blog. The blog itself is looking the way that I want it to. I need to learn how to code certain things in order to make my blog extra special and unique.
Journal Prompt #12- What challenges am I encountering in the Personal Project?
One challenge that I am encountering in my personal project is finding topics to blog about. I have a couple ideas in mind but I need to figure out a cohesive theme to tie them into. My next step toward creating a successful personal project is to create a theme for my blog, continue to customize my blog and add new things and to write a few blog posts.
Journal Prompt #13- How can I continue to make informed decisions in connection with the project's goal?
I can continue to make informed decisions by continuing to research blogging and reading other articles and blogs. I want to learn more about coding so that I will be able to add some cool features to my blog to make it stand out. I want to post more on social media to increase my followers on my Instagram account.
Journal Prompt #14- Currently, do I have a variety of sources?
I do not think that I have a variety of sources. At the moment, a lot of my sources are other blogs. I want to find some sources that are social media pages, newspaper articles, and/or blogs about blogs.
Journal Prompt #15- How has the knowledge from my research/sources influenced or changed my Personal Project?
My sources have helped me mold my blog into something that is unique and creative. They have helped me make my blog the best that it can be. I will continue to research different aspects of blogging that I would like to incorporate into my blog.
Journal Prompt #16- How will my audience see or hear my sources in my project?
My audience will see my sources as hyperlinks in a blog post or at the bottom of a post. This allows my audience to easily access the source and makes it stand out in the post.
Journal Prompt #17- How visible is my Global Context in my project?
I think that my global context is extremely visible in my project because my project is formed based on my own personal expression. I designed my blog based on what I like and how I want it to look and I think that exemplifies the global context, personal and cultural expression.
Journal Prompt #18- What is going well with my project?
Some things that are going well with my project are the design of my blog and ideas for things to blog about. The design of my blog is pretty much complete, if I have extra time it might be helpful for me to research some things to code in order to make my project stand out.
Journal Prompt #19- Is my project matching my goal at this point?
At this point I think my project is matching up to my goal. There are still a few more things I need to do to complete my project but other than that I feel that it is almost complete.
Journal Prompt #20- What do I need to do to finish my project?
To finish my project I need to write a couple posts and start posting on social media to increase my blog traffic. I also need to finish up my research on coding.
Journal Prompt #21- Reflecting on my project, how would I rate myself on Criterion D of the rubric?
I would rate myself as a 5 out of 10 because I feel like I need to put a lot more work into my project but I have been so busy lately that it got a little neglected.
Journal Prompt #22- What questions do I have about writing the report?
One question I have about writing the report is what are the topics that we have to cover in the essay?
Another question I have about the essay is do we need to include our global context?
Journal Prompt #23- How has reflecting on this project extended my knowledge and understanding the topic?
Reflecting on this project has extended my knowledge and understanding of creating a website, coding, and blogging.
Journal Prompt #24- How have I developed as a learner by completing the project?
By completing the project I have become a better writer through writing my blog posts. I have become a better photographer through my blog photos. And I have discovered things about myself that I didn't know. I have learned so much about creating a blog and I have used my knowledge of marketing to promote my blog.
Journal Prompt #25- How would I like to represent my project to others during the Personal Project Exhibit/IB Day?
I would like to represent my project to others by having my website up on the blog and allowing others to go through and read some of my blog posts.
